The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making - Ana Juan, Catherynne M. Valente I really loved this book. It reminded me of Grimm's Fairy Tale, not the Disneyfied ones but the adult versions. This book had blood, pain (physical and mental), hardship, heartbreak and didn't make adventure look all that fun. The little girl learned something about herself and about life. I did not appreciate though some of the things the girl "September" drank throughout the book. Saying all the above, I do not recommend this for children. This book is more for Young Adult to Adults. I know that if I had read it as a child, I would have had nightmares. I had a very active imagination and when watching something like "The Last Unicorn" I had nightmares about the bull coming through our house after me. :D
